update soon!

I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update!  They have most of our BOLC class living at the Holiday Inn (until the current class graduates and gets out of the on post housing, then they will move us) and the internet access is awful- with 200+ soldiers trying to send emails when we get back from class all day the bandwidth just can’t handle it.

I’m going to try to go somewhere with free wifi this weekend to give a nice long update- weekends might be the only time until I move on post that I can really update but I will try as often as possible.

Thanks to everyone that has been writing emails- keep them up! I will get back to you soon!  Hooah!

I’m very interested in your progress. As a new RN (graduated in Aug ’08, working for just over a year) and still in grad school I;m thinking about the army nursing corps too. That ‘pie in the sky’ of loan repayment in 3 years looks so tasty!

What area of nursing will you be going into?

I have been in search for army nursing blogs and i was excited to come across yours. I’ve been a pediatric nurse for almost 2 years now and I am looking into joining the army. I am currently waiting to schedule my day at MEPS. I look forward to reading about your adventures at OBLC. Good luck with everything!

Keep up the postings!! I graduate this December and I’m being commissioned soon after. Any advise and information you can give me is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I am also very interested. I joined the Army, but am still finishing my NP. Will hopefully go to BOLC next spring. It’s good to know what to expect.

Thanks for posting! I came across your blog while looking into army nursing for myself. I graduated in 2008, and it’s very true about the lack of jobs for new nurses! I feel like I might be able to reach my full potential as a nurse in the army, vs jobs I’m less than interested in as a civ. My brother is also in the Army, stationed in Iraq, and he’s very satisfied with his job and finances, etc. but it’s very different to go in to the infantry as he did as opposed to the nurse corps. Anyways, I’m very excited to see your progress, thanks so much for sharing!

When you enlisted as an Army Nurse, were you given a choice of specialty? Were their any bonuses? How long did you sign up for?

I am so glad I came across your blog! Keep blogging! My bf handed me a brochure of Army Nurse Corps and I have been thinking about it. Being that he’s a soldier and does not know anything about nursing I find your blog to be really helpful! I look forward to you next entry. =)
